With the crazy storm we had that weekend there were so many cancellations and getting around was quite something, but we're glad we ventured out and thanks to everyone who made it out as well! Especially to our snowshoeing couple Rob and Marianne!

Check out our calendar for up-coming dates and we'll hopefuly see you at a show some time soon!
Happy Spring,

And a big thanks to Alain de Lafontaine of Concerts de la Cité. We played for les concerts du midi, and any time You and Me can perform outdoors, we are most happy. It was a beautiful sunny day, a much needed road trip and chance to play outside of Montreal. With many hopes of returning next year!

June 15th, 2007

THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU!

We had a wonderful album launch! So many friends and family members to share our pride and joy with. Thank-you ALL for being there with us. It was a memorable evening and we were truly spoiled. You and Me is finally out there, and we hope that if you haven't done so already, you'll pick up a copy of our album at your local record store. Keep checking back for more news.

Our good friend Ian Baird, from Panama City, had this to say about the evening:
" I recently had the privilege of catching the You and Me band at the special party at Le Divan Orange to launch their new CD, and then even dining on the best baby bok choy and tapioca pudding in Montreal, with the band members. Sandra J confirmed the feeling that she had been looking forward to the day like a wedding. And, along with all the excitement the band was feeling on this special day, as with a wedding, you always want everything to be perfect. The band provided just such an atmosphere and executed just such a performance. The smell of sesame oil and philo dough emanated from the kitchen and was aided by a gentle breeze wafting in from the beautiful day we were treated to for this rare 5 a 7 performance. Shawn and Sandra's harmonies got caught on this same breeze and reverberated off the walls and made all the half empty pints of beer hum as the band sounded clearer and tighter than they ever have. Multi-instrumentalists Ed and Dan bound the sound together with their respective guitar arpeggios and backing vocals, and bass lines, mandolin, and lapsteel, like crazy glue. Just to add that extra bit of depth Sandra's xylophone and melodica were spot on and carried through the hall with tender emotion.
Add to the music the broad smiles and jollity that the band exuded and you got more than a musical performance as Shawn tested his listening audience with a mind-bending riddle involving a fox, a chicken, and sacks of grain. You and Me were in such a form on this day that getting the music across wasn't even an issue and they were able to bring to the stage something every audience wants to see - a show. Yesterday's performance was not just a concert... it was a play, and Le Divan Orange was transformed from a stage cafe to a theatre.
Spending time with the band it's easy to see why their sound is so appealing - they're genuinely easy going and appealing people. You realize, when you meet the people who make the music, that they're playing songs that are exactly who they are and nothing they're not; it's what makes them sound so good, makes them so appealing, and what made yesterday have all the fun of a drunken wedding."

THANKS IAN! What a sweet review!

Take care everyone, and we hope to see you very soon, at one of our summer shows perhaps?
Lots of love from,
YOU AND ME

As some of you already know, You and Me have had the great pleasure to be a part of the Distroboto.  This project, which is administered by a non-profit arts organization, is a way for Montreal artists of many different genres to get local distribution. Since the first Distroboto machine was launched in January, 2001, more than 300 local artists have sold more than 20 000 items through these machines!
Our mini Cd "Patience and Prudence" has found it's way into these machines, and we encourage you to check it out and support the local scene!

September 10th, 2006

We had the pleasure of meeting some great people, running a quaint little joint out in Ste. Therese, this past Saturday. Le Parizo Café-Théâtre is sadly closing their doors September 16th, due to lack of funding and interest in this non-profit organization. A big thank-you to everyone who made our time there so pleasant! Best of luck.

August 22nd, 2006

Elizabeth Bruce's benefit concert for Head and Hands was a success, we raised some funds for their projects and had a great evening of music. A big thank-you to everyone who contributed in making it a success.

We will be at Shaika Cafe in NDG September 31st, so come on out on this last night of August for some good eats and music. Free show, 9pm.

August 11th, 2006

A big thank-you to Plajia for having us open for their show at the Main Hall. What great people! That was our first time playing the Main Hall and we had a superb time.
Our mini CD "Patience and Prudence" should be in Montreal's Distroboto machines some time at the end of the month. We will keep you posted.

We launched our first mini CD entitled "Patience and Prudence" with four new songs off of our up-coming LP. Our mini launch took place at Casa Del Popolo and we shared the evening with The Camaromance.A big thank-you to everyone for making that evening so special for us....we had some good clean fun!
We have decided to record some more songs and plans are underway to start the busy LP work in late August. So this postpones our plans a little, but You and Me is just having so much fun with it all, so no worries on our end.

Take care everyone and enjoy the wave, of heat that is!

April 23rd, 2006

We just finished playing three shows in ten days. What fun that was! And we are playing as a "quartet" now. Dany has returned to us and we have been busy working out our sound and practicing new songs with Ed. We think we'll take a little break now, and continue working on the album. We are in the mixing process and are constantly listening to our songs. So we hope to have something soon!
So Happy Earth Day, and remember "Earth day is every day!"

March 16th, 2006

Hi everyone, we've got some more shows coming up including one on April 12th @ Shaika Cafe, April 21st @ the Yellow Door and finally one on July 20th @ Casa Del Popolo. We just want to say a big thank-you to everyone who came out last night to Shaika Café. We had a really great time, and the food and Chai Latte’s were delicious. We played two sets with some new songs and an actual COVER. Thanks Autumn Picture! So until next time.

January 14th, 2006

Well hello again. It’s been a while, and we apologize. We’ve been busy wrapping up our recording. Stay tuned for news regarding the anticipated release of "The Romantic and The Realist." In other news, You and Me have been jamming with Edmund Lam of Hexes & Ohs, and it’s sounding amazing! So keep checking the calendar for up-coming shows and news. We will keep this more current, we promise. We send our love to Dany, WE MISS YOU, and look very forward to his return in early spring.

June 4th, 2005

Welcome everyone. We are finally on the web for your viewing and listening pleasure. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. A big thank you to Edmund Lam for his talented work in creating this web page.

To fill you in as to where we are right now, we just came back from playing a show at the Third Floor Underground in Kingston, New York. We shared the night with Montreal's Autumn Picture and 54 Square Foot Trampoline as well as Americans Salix (from Kingston) and Bridget Martin (from Montana). We had a really good time: the show, the open road, Eli and Hubert, the chocolate and other fun idulgences. The folks we met were great and we had a very attentive audience.

In the meantime, while we await our next shows, we are recording our 1st E.P. which is due to be released by the end of summer. Check in again to see where we play next and other news.
